About Us - Mission

Since 1973, South Carroll Veterinary Hospital has been serving the Carroll County region with complete animal care. Our founder, Dr. Ronald L. Schueler, began the practice from his Eldersburg home, accessible around the clock for all pet emergencies. Through hard work and devotion, the hospital has now grown over the years into the current state of art facility located on Georgetown Blvd.

Dr. Schueler's daughter, Dr. Karen Schueler-Dennis, joined the hospital in 1999 and continued the family tradition of personalized care for the next 25 years. Her training, both nationally and abroad, brought an enhanced skill set and knowledge to treat your pet comprehensively and compassionately.

In June 2024, Dr. Karen joined the Center for Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery in Gaithersburg to begin a residency in Veterinary Dentistry. She has passed the family baton on to two wonderful veterinarians, who will continue to expand the practice and provide the high-level care the community has come to depend on. Please join us in welcoming Drs. April Stephens and Stella Carroll.
